The Plan: A Step Back in Time (?)

This week has been a bit of a challenge. That I'm still running low on platelets and hemoglobin annoys the crud out of me because that means extra trips to the Taussig Cancer Centre. I could do without those. Still, I'm grateful to all the anonymous folks who've donated blood products so I can receive them.
I'm about three weeks along in my recovery from the five-day around-the-clock quad chemo treatments and we are starting to look at future plans. To start with, I need to see Dr. V so we can have a consultation about this. He just got off hospital duty and his schedule is full up. It looks like we'll be waiting at least two more weeks before that will happen.
If you've been following my updates, one of the plans involves me going through the whole procedure again for good measure. Having come through the last three weeks really doesn't make me excited about this option, though I guess I'll do it if it keeps me alive for some time to come.
Another option might include CAR-T therapy, which is an up-and-coming therapy for a variety of cancers. It has been approved by the FDA to treat some cancers but is awaiting approval for Multiple Myeloma treatment. It's possible that the FDA may approve this in the next few weeks.
So, that's where we are with things. Stay tuned for more updates!
Love, love, love to you all!

  1. Hi Dale, Mike Graham from Trinty here. We met awhile back at church. I also have Multiple Myeloma and am also back in treatment. You are right the Cart-T should be approved this month for our type of cancer. If doctor V will let you I would jump in and get it. I heard a radio webcast seminar put on by the Multiple Myeloma Association last week and the specialist really pushed Cart-T as the best way to go now. If it works you are cured. Cured. You have been in my daily prayers. Hang in there brother. Never never never give up. Courage courage courage. Blessings and Love to you, Mike & Marian Graham

    1. Mike!! How wonderful to hear from you. Oh, man... back in treatment, too? That's no fun, but I'm glad that things were caught and you are being put back on the path to wellness.

I am 100% in for CAR-T and it looks like the drop dead date for FDA approval is March 26. I posted another update here: https://cancerbusy.blogspot.com/2021/03/you-have-to-believe.html?fbclid=IwAR1-Ylt11itCyMPeik9ikTFDJ4Yi_0VoyWF5uYfUaIWY2n2npU5ScZj49y4

Love to you and Marian. And please let me know how you are doing!
